Many thanks for your extensive testing and research. As you say it
appears to be a problem only in Excel 2002 and 2003.
I have been in contact with 9Val who also tested my spreadsheet and
found it copied OK but he was not using the later versions of Excel.
Vili was using 2000 when he tested. I have referred 9Val to your
message that I am replying to now, and I presume he is looking into
the problem.
Many thanks also to all the others who responded to my request for
tests with various versions of Excel. The combined effort located the
problem area and presumably will help Rilabs correct the problem.
