MB> Yes, you're right. One should always use only US-ASCII characters
No. I never said this, I never intended to say this and I never wrote
anything that can be interpreted this way. I'd really be please if you
could be a little less emotional and polemic and a bit more factual.
MB> and I do that for many years now.
That's fine for you. I don't. I use Latin-1 characters many times in
different situations. I admit there are circumstances I avoid using
them, but it's limited cases.
MB> But that's not the point, Peter.
*Ohhh* Really?
MB> You tell me to not use any of these characters, that's fine.
No, I told you (not to teach, just to remind you of what's simply a
matter of fact that can't be discussed away, no matter how hard we
try), you should be using only US-ASCII if you need 100% assurance
*right now* with The Bat! *as it is*. Admitting there is a bug and
trying to focus the discussion by stating "currently there is no other
solution, but ..." is not the same as "telling you, you have to always
use/do ...".
MB> But who's going to tell this *all* other people?
Don't know. And don't care. If somebody hits me with this and is
hit by this bug I'll tell him, as long as the bug ain't fixed. Until
the latter is the case I try not to provoke this bug if possible.
Period.
MB> Hint: Bug report was opened on 3rd of January 2005...
Another hint: it's not the longest living bug, so why make this fuss
about it? Bringing it back to remembrance is one thing (and OK),
sarcasm OTOH doesn't help anybody.

But you did your best to do ... Sadly :-/

Yes, this can "clearly" be read out of your text in
<mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ...
Maybe it's me and me being dense, but I don't see a single line in
there that says "there's an entry in BT which might correspond to your
problem". I see something completely different. Hint: Vili admitted
the bug and wrote about the (temporary!) solution ("until fix").
