Finally, yesterday, my round-about brain told me to look at my AB
templates. I found that in all templates which included "Sign
Complete" or "Encrypt Complete" macros, the entire template was gone,
replaced by: % Binary %
I erased these strange strings and put my previous template in via a
copy-and-paste from intact templates and then re-added the desired
macros ("Sign Complete," and/or "Encrypt Complete.")
This fixed the problem, and, so far, the fix is sticking.

What made it happen?
Don't know yet. In a private mail exchange, it was suggested to me
that the Restore I had done to the folder which lost its message list
had affected the Address Book.
I stress again, that when I told The Bat! to do a restore, I selected
just that one folder and that contact was not in the Address Book. Nor
do I use PGP with that contact.
Still a puzzle as to why I encountered this difficulty in quoting from
PGP-encrypted and/or PGP-signed messages from the particular contacts
that were in the AB with these macros in their templates. But I'm
putting it down to a one-time occurrence and not a fault in version
3.51.10.
Possibly the message-list loss was due to something flakey in how
Windows handled my attempt to export to a Unix Mailbox. I never did
find the file, but all the messages disappeared from the folder I had
tried to export from.
End of update. :)
