Dunno 'cos I never enabled the HTML editor

Me neither.

Neither. I went to "Customise" and removed all items apart from the 4
text alignment icons and the "A" icon has now gone.

C> Is the 'A' still absent when you enable the HTML editor?

Yes, no sign of it now and should have checked before I removed it!
