Do you keep the connection centre open at all times? If you check the CC when the filtering stops, you may notice that the queue for the Inbox commands is stuck, in that there are a list of commands there that haven't been carried out. Either exiting and restarting or disconnecting and reconnecting to the server may fix the stick.
