First of all, I owe you a beer. :) Why? Because you provided me with a quick quit from TB! :)) I mean, really, I am struggled quitting from TB!, Task manager, kill process, etc., now it is a sec. Ok, not the best way, but if I dont set the settings, dont compress mails at exit, it will work fine. After restart my TB! is quick again :) I figured out what the problem is, what causes TB! to quit: the filters. So if the subject line is too long AND one of the incoming filter is True for the mail, the filter just fails to run. If you want to check it, import the mail, filter that folder with a filter that will be true.
