Did you check that there is no antivirus tool that is monitoring big
files in TheBat folder? Maybe the outbox base, and as you have
certainly activated automatic save of emails there could be a delay in
accessing the outbox if a antivirus is firs checking the hole base.
Try to deactivate the antivirus, at least for the thebat-folders.
