Thanks, didn't realise it was listed there. That did it.

Unfortunately not here. I just have "Fast search/View mode/Folder".
That's why I was so baffled.

I'd still like to know why, on hitting "delete" When the message Tab is
highlighted, the message in the message pane is totally zapped out of
existence.
