The  answer  is  very  simple:  you  cannot delete the tab by pressing
Delete. You cannot "highlight" a tab. You can only "select" a tab. So,
when  you  pressed  Delete, you applied that shortcut on the currently
selected message. That is why it was deleted. As you requested it from
TB.

I cannot confirm it. I think, from that "now" word, that before you
did it, you did not move the deleted messages to the Trash.

Someone  else  explained  it. So again: deleting, creating the tabs is
possible  only  in  the  Options  menu. Only adding is possible on the
mains screen. I would say it is normal behaviour.
