You are right. It closes automatically when I queue to Outbox.

The reason I was focusing on it being closed is that when the
PGP-encrypted mail is queued in the Outbox, it cannot be reopened to
find the originally typed message body.

Instead, the replacement as shown in my original post to this thread
with attachment,
mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

is produced when I try to re-open the Edit Mail Message window by
clicking on the Message list item in the Outbox.

Really disconcerting to completely lose all one's careful composition.
