I have always had the "Encrypt to default key" setting enabled.

That's why it was such a shock when I couldn't click on my message in
the Outbox message list and open it.

I won't need to do that any more, now that I know how to find my
original clear text with the Preview Pane (Message Auto-view).

So I'll avoid some dangers, huh?

All I wanted to do yesterday was add a note to my previous writing
explaining to my recipient why my reply had been delayed an hour--the
server down, really a very unusual event with Comcast.

I would have been happy to be able to copy-and-paste the old message
into a new one, but I didn't know I could open it from the Preview
Pane headers.

Just learned that from Alexander today.
