I use WMP. Maybe there is something wrong in the registry settings for
this extention.

There are several registry entries for which application is associated
with each extention, I never get the hang of what all means. Serach
the registry for .wmv, and you'll see what I mean. I had a problem
with the .mp3 extention once and couldn't fix it. I then brutally
deleted all registry entries containing this extention, then
re-installed the application I wanted to use. The AVs stopped.
