I've never had stability problems with TB!, all my filters are server side, too. What we're talking about here is the slooow response of the prog to server commands which results in a lag (or blank message panel) while TB! collects and sorts messages.
The only version of TB! which has worked for me is 3.61.10 where Ritlabs somehow produced a version with acceptable IMAP speed.
