What has happened is that I'm actually using a server side trash. I'm
using server side trash because when I delete messages to local trash,
the trash folder quite often is shown as having unread messages. Upon
selecting the trash folder, the unread message count immediately goes to
zero. This isn't only a visual issue because when moving from folder to
folder to read unread messages, the trash will be moved to if the unread
message count is there.
