There were only two. They had "- --" (without quotes) at the beginning
of the message body text. Your messages,

mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

and

mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] .

When you wrote to Maxim, you had straightened the cut mark's placement
out and the body text displayed normally and also placed the quoted
material for a Reply normally, as specified my Reply template.
Subsequent messages have also been okay.

mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Richard spotted what was going on ahead of me. Two clues for him:

1) The body text was displayed in the small font he has set for
signature text.

2) And when he hit Reply, the original message was not quoted in his
Edit Mail message window, showing that the symbols "- --" did operate
as a "cut mark" should, in accordance with his Reply template.

It took me awhile to figure out that the body text was also being
displayed for me in my very small, light-colored signature text font.
Temporarily I thought my settings to show HTML in plain text had been
somehow over-ridden. (For testing purposes TBBETA accepts HTML, but
it's a no-no unless it *is* only for a test; at least, that's my
understanding.)

I joined TBBETA as a tester in the fall of 2004, IIRC. So you may not
know much about me--I'm very much an amateur and the few skills I have
are the ones the listers have taught me. So I'm sometimes a little
slow to catch on or to figure things out.

I hope your JAWS issues are soon solved!!

As to the misplaced cut mark--no harm done, so far as I'm concerned.
"Every day's a school day" for me, and I enjoyed learning something
new. I've set my signature text in Bold now, and I'll be able to read
the message of anyone who inadvertently puts the cut mark too high in
the future!! :)

Best regards,
Mary
