That's because the IMAP folder order is different in Thunderbird and The
Bat! In the Tbird screen shot, the line directly above PLALA is correct
Japanese display. In the TB! screen capture, the same text is shown with
three extraneous characters at the end, starting with "=". This cannot
be fixed in TB, and does not affect the actual folder title as viewed in
other programs.

I didn't create the folders in TB, but in another program. There are
other problems with Japanese handling as well.
(1) Using MicroEditor, Japanese cannot be typed inline but must be
entered via a separate IME window.
(2) Both with MicroEditor and Windows Editor, TB incorrectly changes the
encoding header information.
(3) When replying to a message with Japanese title, the title becomes
corrupted.
(4) Messages and templates are displayed with lots of squares where
spaces should be.
Etc.

I have been asking and hoping for proper handling of Japanese for at
least five years. Things have improved somewhat during that time, but
too many problems still exist for the program to be useful to me, even
though I have foolishly purchased it three times over. Thunderbird, a
free program, has none of the above problems, by the way.
