I'm talking about user defined / custom headers (whatever you like),
activated using templates.

So, what's the "Empty ASCII-only headers" supposed to be then?

Sure, in case you feel like replacing parts of TB code, its your
decision. But, do some (in house) alpha testing before releasing it
into 'the wild' as beta version. The reported bugs are just too
obvious.
