Due to the bug which causes the message list to move left in long threads, then not spring back, I was trying to manually get back to the left edge with the keyboard. Unfortunately I was focused on the account tree not the message list at the time, and so the key strokes I nonchalantly hit moved the folder (the bat off topic) out of the nest of mailing list folders and up the tree (actually down the tree). Once it got out there I wasn't allowed to move it back. 'folder already exists please rename and try again' I think is the error message.
It seemed logical, after checking to be sure I hadn't actually changed the nesting of the folders in my IMAP account, to see if resetting the folder list would make it right. It does not. Now I have multiple entries of the folder in the account tree, and worse, I don't seem to be able to load messages in any of those iterations. I get a message list, but no message, and moving from message to message doesn't change anything. I don't think I would advise anyone to try to confirm this because it could leave them in the same mess I'm in! In a fit of genius I tried one more solution. I unsubscribed from that folder, and tried resetting the list again. It resulted in !another iteration in the account tree of that folder! -- Dwight A.
