it's necessary for not staying to guessedly enumerate the exact meaning of the term "intelligent".
try to put an years-old typewriter user before a modern wordprocessor, then sit back and watch him/her attempting text formatting with the spacebar. the explanation is quite simple - spacebar works no more, as the tool isn't monospaced; there are other means to achieve text formatting. period.
