My settings are are follows:

Options/Preferences/System/Mail Directory: G:\The Bat\Mail\

Than, all my accounts are set to <default> for Home and Attachments
directories.

As for backups, I have never used TB's backup. I believe I have actually
never tried it. For may daily backups, which include more than just TB's
mail base, I have always used either Second Copy (www.centered.com) or
the freeware version of SyncBack (www.2brightsparks.com) and never had
a problem with either of them.
