Dear Mary, Wednesday, June 14, 2006 you let us know -possibly edited- :
> Done. But WinRar may not after all be the whole culprit in my latest > TB! beta problems. Really seems so :( > Before I even saw your suggestion, and while running TB! beta v. > 3.81.04 that I had installed from Simon's .zip file, the MailTicker > began to flicker and TB!'s main window started to become "unpainted" > in about half the window. This I read and the following also. > So I then closed TB!, renamed the 3.81.04 exe > file to "old" and took old out of the name of the 3.80.06 exe file, > then relaunched TB! Result, a perfectly stable 3.80.06 that launched > perfectly. So far so good :) > As a test for my new beta WinRar program, I completely deleted both > TB! exe files, the renamed and the functioning 3.80.06. Betatesting is demanding sometimes ;) -it takes many steps to verify an idea or even falsifying it. This I say from own experience. > Then I did a fresh download of TB! 3.81.04 from the TB! rar link that > 9Val sent. Before doing that, I sent the previous rar to the Recycle > Bin, so there would be no possibility of errors through an overwrite > in the Temp folder. > I asked WinRar to extract to The Bat! And it showed the same launch > problems as ever. I fear Rit guys won't love to hear this, but I really think it looks as if this version of TB is slightly under suspicion. I once had a early 3x version that constantly refused to start, it took more than two months to get it going. To my luck I always had a stable version to fall back. With 9Val's help I succeeded at last and I still am thankful for his help. > My problem with installing and launching beta v. 3.81.04 is still not > solved. Maybe he can help you the same way he helped me. I don't remember how it worked out or what the steps were we had to take. > But I see that there are enough beta testers doing a good job of testing it > without my help. I can't fully subscribe to that point ;) I really hope that some clever brain will figure out what to do. The only occasions I see half painted windows or improperly drawn ones is when my system's file system is strained to the max (like copying huge files while raring other ones in between). > -- > Best regards, > Mary Either your place or mine the delimiter is broken. -- kind regards Charlene Ferrara mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.81.04 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Skype: charleneferrara ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 3.81.03 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
