Stuart, thank you for continuing to test this issue. I changed to v.
3.81.04 just now to see what happened. First, in v. 3.80.06 I
configured the Mail Ticker to "Hide."
Then I switched the .exe file to v. 3.81.04, and it launched and ran
just fine, as we've already established.
Then with v. 3.81.04 running, I changed "Hide" to "Always" in
Options/Preferences/Messages/Mail Ticker.
As soon as I clicked OK, the Mail Ticker appeared--but flashing so
rapidly as to seem to be flickering.
So this reminded of a similar problem I had way earlier...
What is the opacity of the mail ticker set to? Does anything
change if it is set completely opaque?
