I tried this with a double-extension attachment. Clicking No brought
up another copy of the dialogue window, and clicking No to that caused
the dialogue window to disappear. The attachment did not open.

In a second part of my test:

Clicking Yes brought up another copy of the dialogue window. Clicking
Yes to that caused the attachment to open and display. The dialogue
window remained open, displayed on top of the attachment text, and I
closed it manually with the X (close) button.

Partial confirmation, as described above.
