Amen to that! It should be resizeable.

George, I do not now think it was a bug in the v. 3.85.03 code.

I want to emphasize this! It looks more like some misbehavior at the
site from which the .xml message is sent in response to "notify at
start" settings in the user's copy, and in response to clicking on
Help/Check for updates also.

That was what I meant when I said I wasn't sorry I made the BT report.
Perhaps that report and all the confirmations caused the RitLabs team
to notice what was happening.

As I wrote to Hendrik earlier, I do know that "cannot confirm"
messages are as valuable in tracking down the cause of a particular
misbehavior as the original report of the misbehavior.

But it's good to have it stated so elegantly as you have done.

If I gave you the idea that I was taking your "cannot confirm" post
personally, I'm sorry. Sometimes I don't get my thoughts down clearly
from my brain to my fingers. :(

NB: <quoted out of the order of the original post>:

In my latest check, a second before I began writing this, my
concluding sentence in my reply to you, I counted, slowly, to 17
before the "no updates available" Alert box appeared.

Perhaps this will all be an unlamented series of past events when we
get v. 3.85.04 offered to us. :)
