It's Japanese for "I see". Sorry, I hear this so often, I sometimes
forget that Europeans are not necessarily familiar with this
expression. It is similar to the German "ach so".

I think I understand what you want to achieve. That's the
functionality asked for in the wish.

I think you are misunderstanding me. The functionality is clear. A
message should not be duplicated, but pointers should allow them to
show up in different virtual folders. You assign "bookmarks" to do
that. I now use Flags for that, and others use colour groups. Virtual
Folders work on filter algorithms, they do not duplicate the messages
but only hold pointers.

The Watch Folders, if I understand the technology behind them
correctly, will look for mids or subjects. This way, you can watch a
thread in those folders without duplicating the messages. If that is
incorrect, please let me know how they work behind the scenes.

My words about the multi-value flags drive at how the bookmarks would
work. If you assign bookmarks manually, how should TB know which
message to display in each bookmark VF? This is the technical question
I am trying to taggle. You must admit that some kind of algorithm is
necessary. I see two possibilites:

1.) Add an X-header to the message. I am not in favour of this.

2.) Add a variable to the .tbi file. This has already been tested and
proven to work with colour groups and the Flag. To achieve the
functionality you are asking for, this would be the technology I'd
suggest. It doesn't question or alter your suggestion or "improve" on
it at all, but this is a way I see it could be implemented. The
variable must be able to hold several values (bookmarks) at the same
time, which is new, and thus the coding is the problem. In
object-oriented programming (OOP), which I think the developers use
for TB, the problem is solvable.

If you have another suggestion how to implement your wish, please let
me know. However, it is up to the developers what algorithm they will
use when implementing it, which I hope they will.

There is a CD out entitled "The Worst of Jefferson Airplane." If you
buy this, take it home, play it, and enjoy it, should you take it back
and demand a refund?
