I think I might be able to shed a little more light on this
phenomenon. I came home and fired up the current version to see what
would happen.

First thing I noticed was that this was the first ever version of TB!
to cause MS firewall to pop-up and ask if I wanted to allow TB!
access. Naturally I said yes. I ran it for quite awhile and never so
much as a hint of a hang while checking.

Hmmm....

I took my USB to another computer at home, same firewall event. So
something in this latest version is definitely different in the way it
checks for mail.

I'm guessing since my work computer is running its own version of some
firewall (one I can't do much about locally) that perhaps is causing
the hanging I'm seeing from there,

Naturally this is all conjecture on my part and just guessing at what
I've been seeing might mean and how it might fit together.

Has anyone else at least noticed this to be the first version to
"trip" the firewall into asking for clearance?
