This  is  in  the  bugtrack:  "The solution could be, to set read-only
attribute for such files, prior to opening them, so that "save" action
would  trigger  "save  as"  dialog."

Agree. I think, this should be the solution.

There  is no rational why to change the working folder. That MUST be a
temp dir.

I suggest for Ritlabs to check how Outlook does it and copy that
behavior.
