Hi Alexander! >> And as I said: Nobody from Ritlabs is caring about this anyhow. Is this >> how Ritlabs says "Thank you" to beta testers? I should really reconsider >> this, maybe also using TB as a "normal" user. > Well, feel free to do so. Maybe it will spare us your unconstructive > criticism.
Talking about "unconstructive" stuff we should talk about Paul first... ;-) > Everybody wants his/her bugs fixed first. I want *my* bugs fixed first. Well if you think so. I posted this on December, 6th, 2005, and nothing happened exept one post from Roelof. Also no suggestion or some questions regarding my "special" environment from Ritlabs. See, if I were responsible for TB I would be very interested when hearing about these kind of bugs. It's a lot more serious than some graphical stuff which is fixed all the time. Talking about serious things I cannot find anything really working how it should when trying to use IMAP, which was a promised feature in v3, or was it v2?!? And yes, I also tried on a standard WinXP machine. Well, it is using a Pentium M processor like my server, so it's not standard anymore... ;-) But sorry for getting off-topic... > To start withm, your 1st problem could be that there have been no > confirmations that other beta testers also lost their folders. That I cannot reproduce it makes it even more interesting in my opinion. I can describe what happened before: Nothing. As I wrote in another mail in this thread. Nothing extraordinary happened in the last weeks. My virus scanner (AVG Network Edition 7.5) does not scan the mail folders, it makes no sence in my eyes so I excluded the encrypted directories. Offline files are disabled from the beginning, I do not use this. I also do not have TB files stored in my user profile. > Someone who's using TB in an environment like yours should comment on > that. 2nd problem is - that won't be a lot of users. You're using a > server OS as a workstation, and why shouldn't you, but not a lot of TB > users will spend the bucks on a server OS for that. I described why I use the server OS as a workstation. Or at least partly as a workstation. But as you wrote you can understand this. BTW: Paying about 300 EUR a year includes server and workstation OS'es plus office and backoffice stuff with several licences. Just perfect. In my opinion TB does nothing different on the server OS than running on WinXP oder Win2000. I did not experience anything different when installing or using various programs on the server. The only difference are virus scanners. These programs are "locked" to specific variants, which e.g. means that you cannot install the free editions on a server. But: A lot of mails about nothing, it seems that nobody can or want to help with this problem. I just did screenshots of my folders plus adding empty files to the folders that I can identify them on the hard disc. So from time to time I have to sync the folders by looking at the screenshots. If a folder is missing or if I add or move folders I have to do hand work again.
