:)))) Lots of extra process in the background. I work in corporate
environment now, if I need the speed, I unplug the network cable,
kickoff the antivirus and monitor programs and some other stuff and
run my speed critical programs (e.g. protein scoring ones, that last
ca. 1-2 hours like this, 5-6 with network).
