I don't know if it could have anything to do in this issue but, do you remember the discussion Alexander and others, including myself, had with Maxim in December (I think) about using 'localhost', or IP number or FQDN for the EHLO command? I think Maxim even mentioned the calls TB was making to the OS to see if the host had a FQDN, or not. If I recall correctly, those calls (or some of them) send a query to the DNS and this is where the delay may be produced.
