This is probably a bug in message header preview (your pic2.gif).
If you highlight the Name, the national character is displayed
correctly.
If you click on an other header field, the corrupted display
reappears.
If you highlight it again and click in message body, the national
character continues to be displayed correctly.
If my memory is right there is already an bug report, but I am unable
to find it...
