Most developer don't can't afford to buy certificates, meaning that the best plugins will not anymore available for TheBat! 4.x If this is true TheBat! is going back to the 18th century. There are thousands of users out there which won't be able to use some very efective and beloved plugins anymore. Special the German comunity developed some very good plugins.
