OK I went back to 3.99.9 and looked at the Spell check options there. I have a list of about 15 languages to choose from. Below that I have 1 language, French. This is separated by a divider and is the only language choice I see when I go to the latest beta. If I then look under customizer at the Spell checking Menu I see two choices under the Languages submenu SpellersSSP and SpellersCsIP. It is the latter that apparently has French in it. If I now look in the same place in the new beta I only see mSpellLings where the two choices were before. I cannot find anywhere the file the French dictionary resides in, but it does seem to work when I select it in the new beta.
