Hello Rick, > I just hit a situation where I created a message from a gmail address > and it failed in sending as the it was trying to go out of my default > non-gmail account. That never happened before
A few days ago I wrote in a message: ,----- [ ] | So, let's all be a little more rigorous when testing and precise when | reporting. `----- I know you were not specifically testing something, it's something that happened while doing normal use of TB. Now, let me see if I understood. - You created a new message and used a gmail address in From. - Because you had focus in your default account, when you sent the message it was sent through this account, right?. - No problem so far. You can normally send via an account and server with a "different" email address. Most (or many ISPs) allow this. - But you say that Send failed. What does 'failed' actually mean? It was not sent? Did you see any error response from the server in your account log? - It could be that the server (and ISP) of your main account does not allow to send with a From address that does not belong to their domain. I have seen this in the past. Or is it all that because you used a gmail.com address in From you expected that it would be sent through your Gmail account? -- Best regards, Miguel A.
