What I would like is to right-click on the attachent icon and have a
"Scan for viruses" entry in the context menu. However, this might be a
job for the AV companies to implement. Otherwise, how should TB! and
Windows know what software to scan it with?

Very much like the "Print" option in the context menu, which runs some
Windows default program for the purpose (at least it is different on
my home and my office computers).
