I've seen the freeze before and the virtual lock-up of the desktop,
but not for quite some time now (praise be to Stef and Max).

.23 had less memory requirements and I've just installed .24 - we
shall see.

So you have never seen the status dialog not fully painted with no
idea where the shut-down process is at?

It's a scary thing to see with OTFE with my current mail-bases now
approaching 1GB! But I back up early and often.
