I feared about the same, as i deleted some folders which did not work. What you describe above is only possible, if you recreate the folder imediately new, so the filter has a target again. I would love to have a filter, which can delete folders or empty-folders and who is able to work without the destination existing. Maybe it could even be possible to create a RegEx Filter with Conditions in Brackets '^\s*From ([a-z])' Action create Folder \1 and Action move Message there.
