Hi Eddie, just explained it to a few people who're using TB to how it can be added to the Bat". Here's what I wrote them:
This is how I added the RSS Feed to The Bat!: 1. Download a free RSS Feedreader. I downloaded Feedreader 3.13 at http://www.feedreader.com/download choose there: "Download Installer from Fileforum". Install the program. Then I searched the Web (Googling) for 'feeds' I wish. After I found some nice german and dutch feeds (I am a dutch, live in Germany), I added them in Feedreader; Click File - New - Feed. If you've put the Feed before in the memory of your computer, it's added then automatically. After you've added all the feeds you wish, you click on File - Export OPML and put that file (feedreader.opml) in your The Bat! maildirectory. You won't need that Feedreader no more now. You can keep it or uninstall it. (I kept it, because if I find a new nice feed, I'll add it here and export the opml file again then.) 2. Download the plugin from http://thebat.zetema.de/zip/rss2pop3_lost.zip, unpack it and put the rss2pop3.tbp in the The Bat! maildirectory. With me, that is G:\TB, so the full path is: G:\TB\rss2pop3.tbp (The Bat! program itself is installed in C:\Program Files). 3. Open The Bat!, goto: Options - Preferences - Plug-Ins. Click at the Add button and go in the new window to the mail directory where you put the rss2pop3.tbp. Place the mouse on that file and click 'Open'. You will see, the Plug-In is added now. 4. Close that window and click aboce at 'Account' to create a new account. The wizard starts with it's first window where an Account name is asked. I named it RSS-Feed. Click 'Next'. In the middle you write an emailaddress. This is just needed because The Bat! wants it. It is later of no use anymore. Click then 'Next'. In the new window you've to remove the lines under 'Incoming mail server address' and 'SMTP server address' and write on both lines 'localhost'. Then click 'Next'. In the new window remove what's written behind 'Username' and write there the full path to that feedreader.opml. I have put there: File://G:\TB\feedreader.opml That first part 'File://' is nessesary, else it won't work. Behind Password write some password. If you don't do that, you'll be asked later every time you wants to get new messages in this account. Click 'Next' and then click 'Finish'. The account is ready for use now. If you mark with the mouse the new RSS-Feed account and click above at the 'Recieve new mail' button, lots of messages will appear in the Inbox. however, if you've lots of different feeds, you might prefer that to filter in different folders. Use your usual method to do that. -- Regards, Gunivortus Using The Bat Vs. 4.1.9.2 under Vista Ultimate 32 bit ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 4.1.9.2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
