I make things for a group of people that I want to go out 5 at a time twice a 
day. When they get it fully functional I'll be able to set things up several 
days in advance if I so wish and not have to worry about being there to get 
them out.

Someone with a large newsletter may want to set it to start going out at 
midnight and then more at 1 AM etc to not bog the server, all while he or she 
is in bed.

And your own example - set up some greetings to go out on schedule.
