No,  I'm  not  a  schizophrenic  and  I don't usually reply to myself!
However,  I  found out what the problem is. Unbelievably, the solution
is  that  I  have  to designate the "d" drive with a small letter d in
order  for  the backup to take place in that drive instead of on the C
drive.
