As far as the HTML-message is concerned: I apparently jumped to the conclusion the problem had to do with TB! since no one else in that group seemed to be affected. When I asked others wether they had any problem with that particular message, it turned out everyone had problems with it, whatever mailer they were using, but no one had bothered to mention it. Probably bad or damaged html-code.
