Hello,

I'm trying to set up tboot on my system. (I already tried this last
year, but stopped halfway through due to time constraints).

According to my TODO from last year, I still need to call the command
"tpm_nvdefine -i 0x40000001 -s 0x36 -p OWNERWRITE" (all the other
relevant nvram areas are already defined, just this one is still
missing).

However, this command (as well as the corresponding tpmnv_ command)
fails with the error "Tspi_NV_DefineSpace failed: 0x0000002d -
layer=tpm, code=002d (45), Bad physical presence value". Does someone
have an idea how to get around this? My system is a Lenovo Thinkpad
T420.

Things I already tried, based on random hints on the internet:
* Clearing the TPM in the BIOS.
* Pressing F9 during BIOS initalization
* Holding down Fn during BIOS initalization
* Doing all of the above after a cold boot, having removed the battery
  for a while.

At this point, I'm pretty clueless how to proceed. Worse still, I don't
recall this being a problem when I defined the other NVRAM areas last
year.

I'd be extremly grateful for any hints.

Regards,
Luis Ressel
