Hello TBTECH Members!
I am using vCards especially for business contacts and encountered a
problem that I find strange, which maybe it isn't:
To make business contacts more "personal" I put in a picture of me
in JPEG format. Now I got two replies from friends (who accidentally
are also business contacts) that double clicking the vcf file
instantly crashed their systems.
System number one was a Powerbook by Apple with Macintosh 8.x and
Netscape 4.5 (or even 4.7, I forgot which version number it has on
the Mac). System number two is a PC with Win98 running and OE 97 or
2000.
Since I tested with system number one my vCard without picture
(which worked), I think the problem lies with the JPEG. The picture
I use shows quite alright on my system, double clicking the vCard
goes normally on my machine. BTW, it is the same picture which shows
in the TBUDL Rogue Gallery.
Could it be that the vcf format is not defined the same on all
systems? Or may there be a subtle defect in the picture?
