Hello MaXxX,
Historians believe that Sunday, July 29, 2001 at 12:41 GMT -1200 was
when, MaXxX [M] typed the following:
M> Uuuugh. That's why I suggested converting the "quoted" macros to (bracketed)
M> ones. Turning %IF:"expr"=="val":"true":"false" would look better as
M> %IF("expr"=="val":"true":"false"), as the brackets would clearly identify
M> where the %IF starts and ends. That goes for all %REGEXP... macros, and
M> probably all of them as well.
I think you've got a good idea, but how would you solve this one:
Suppose your string needs a closing bracket ")" but no opening
bracket. A silly example is:
%IF("%DOW"="Friday":"It's almost the weekend ;-)":"")
Don't you still have the same problem? Or can you get rid of the
quotation marks inside as well?
M> "Quoted" values were good for non-nested macros. I think it's high time to
M> upgrade on it.
I can definitely see the potential, but this %IF macro is still
tricky with either syntax. But for every other macro, your method
could be a big improvement.
