Can't he use the %ATTACHVCARD macro, which doesn't need an argument?
All in all I think he can do without RegEx by using AB templates and
QT's. He just needs to make -for this purpose - two QT's. One for
internal, one for external use. In his AB templates he just put in
%QINCLUDE='QThandle'.
this way he can even use it for addresses that are new and not in his
AB by typing the QT handle in a message and >Ctrl>+<Spacebar>.
