Hello Brano, Historians believe that Friday, October 19, 2001 at 12:13 GMT +0200 was when, Brano [B] typed the following:
B> right. And thats really problem, I still donw know how to remove bad B> adresses from mailing-list. I have to do it by hand :( B> hm...but I am thinking about that - When I get those ppl into adress B> book, when deleting email, BAT asks me if I want completely delete B> that email (also from other groups...), so that could be way...hm ? I've been thinking about it, and you might be able to do it with a more complicated script. I'm not going to write this one now, but here's the outline: 1. Export all addresses in group to an LDIF file (use delete option as well to remove them from TB's address book). 2. Find the bad address from the bounce. 3. Find the corresponding address in the exported file. 4. Delete the LDIF entry. 5. Reimport the LDIF file. I'm not entirely sure how well step 1 works using a command-line and groups. You may need to make a full address book for that list instead of just a group. Step 4 may also prove to be somewhat challenging. I'm not entirely familiar with the LDIF format. What I know comes from looking at examples that TB generates when I export test entries. One other thing to consider is that you may be removing addresses prematurely. It's possible that a server crashed and that the bounces are only temporary. If you're running a big list, you might want to consider some specialized list software. I know Leif Gregory just started up a mailing list about managing lists using TB. Perhaps that forum might provide you with better answers.
