this is common behavior for TheBat. The message base files get lost
under these circumstances (.TBB). I reported this bug numerous times
during the beta phase, but nobody commented and the programmers did
not seem to be interested. They were busy adding fancy stuff that
almost nobody needs...

I advise every user of TheBat to keep at least(!) daily backups when
storing account files on network drives. If your network connection
goes down the drain while working with TheBat, it does all kinds of
weird things (like the above mentioned problems) and your messages are
gone for good. Been there three times so far...
