Hello Brano,

Historians believe that Thursday, June 13, 2002 at 09:33 GMT +0200 was
when, Brano [B] typed the following:

> I use it, so try this:

> in template:
> %QUOTESTYLE="=%QINCLUDE='ini Initials'"

Um, you've only given him part of the solution. Kevin, you need to
use the %QuoteStyle macro as written above, but to put the initials
into your attribution line, use %QINCLUDE="ini Initials". The quick
template system that Brano posted generates initials a little more
intelligently than TB's internal implementation. The posted version
looks for the initials in the following places (in this order):

1. Address Book
If the address is in the AB, then use AB contact info
2. Original message
   a) If the full name is a name, then use the name
   b) If the full name is an e-mail address, then the user part of the
      address

This version also limits the number of initials to 3, as opposed to
the (seemingly) unlimited number of initials that TB's internal
version allows.

The result is, this Quick Template system can generate different
initials than what TB would normally generate. Therefore, if you want
the attribution line and the quote prefixes to match, you must use
both of the following in your main template:

%QINCLUDE="ini initials"
%QUOTESTYLE="=%QINCLUDE='ini initials'"

By the way, I am not saying the following to single out Brano. I've
noticed this growing trend on the TB lists.

Although I appreciate people sharing regexps, would it be too much to
ask that you at least acknowledge that you are not the author? Some of
these template systems take several hours and sometimes days to write.
This particular example was very difficult to write.

Even if you don't remember who the original source was, you could at
least use a line like: "This one has been floating around the lists
for a while." Or, "Someone posted this version a while back."

Changing the template names doesn't count. Posting anything that
others created as your own is plagiarism. Again, I'm not saying this
to single out Brano, after all, the last template is different from
the original one that I have. However, the bulk of the system is
copied. The originals can be found in the following messages:
