Actually, we don't know that. In fact we know a couple of other
things about message.att. It is more likely to be a MS-TNEF format
attachment (see www.fentun.com for decoder). It could also be a
PGP/MIME signature - possibly a more likely one for list messages
(depending on the list in question).

It may do in the latter case but not the former.
