Hello!

MW> Urk! I'm not trying to push VB here. Or anywhere. Let's just let it
MW> die a nice, peaceful death. Like COBOL. Hey - why won't COBOL go away?

Here in South Africa mostly all existing mainframes like those use by
the banks (unbeleivable huge systems)is still running COBOL. To port
all these over to a new language (like C++ or whatever) would cost
millions!

Threw time all "strandard" languages (BASIC, Pascal, C etc) had just
involved over time - improving to new technology (ActiveX, COM, etc),
new platforms, new names (BASIC = VB, Pascal = Delphi, C = C++ etc),
object-oriented programming (OOP) etc... Also threw time new languages
appear (Java, Clarion etc) but these all are just base on the others.

Kind Regards,
